Dear Congressman,

I am writing to ask for your help in stopping Obama-Care. I have described my thoughts on the subject more at this website -

Normally I would send this to Obama. However, Obama and his pseudo-Democratic supporters have made it very clear that they are not listening to their constituents - the people they allegedly represent.

The best health care I have had the last 5 years is to go without a health insurance company, and to pay cash on the barrel-head. This is the way I did my health care during 2009 - I paid about $700 for doctor appointments and prescriptions. I am continuing with that health care arrangement in 2010.

In 2008, I was with Kaiser. I received terrible care, and it cost about $5000.

I refuse to go back to an HMO, given that my health is better without an HMO.

That Obama is talking about passing a law that would force me to be a customer of an HMO - Amazing. I'm speechless. He may as well pass a law requiring me to smoke cigarettes.

I have the RIGHT to use a "cash on the barrelhead" type approach to my health care. But the Democrats don't understand that, so I am now in a position, as a lifelong Democrat, of voting against California "Democrats" in 2010, 2012, and 2014. I will be voting for the person most likely to beat them - who will probably be a Republican.

I am writing to you to ask you to stop Obama-care. Specifically, to stop the Individual Mandate.

I can tell you this. I am on a limited income. I have learned to live on $20,000 a year, including my health care. I live healthy - I swim 2 miles 2 or 3 days a week and do other exercise things that would lead a person to say, "Jeez, he's healthy".

I also eat very healthy. I eat 8-12 fruits & vegetables a day, among other things. So, I have no problem in the roughage department, which I will get back to later.

But the "Individual Mandate" in Obama's Health Care Plan blows all that to shreds. If I am forced to spend $5000 a year - which is what it health insurance companies usually charge us 52 year olds - it blows my budget out of the water.

Therefore I will tell a story from my childhood that Obama-care reminds me of.

When I was a child, we were on vacation once when I "had to go", and my father was furious because we drove 15 minutes out of our way to get to a rest room. I was under considerable pressure to perform. Predictably, I had trouble producing the expected turd, and became desperate. So fearful was I of my father's wrath if I did not get a turd into the toilet bowl, that I grabbed a turd from the unflushed toilet next to mine, and plopped it into my toilet.

When my father came to inspect on my progress, I stood there waiting with my now-soiled hands behind my back. Although I had plagiarized my bowel movement, I was hopeful that my father would fall for it.

He said, "well, it looks like you really had to go" - and I was spared from his wrath.

I have lived with American health care since the 1950's. I remember how simple and un-stressful health care was in the 1960's, when you just paid the doctor when you went to the doctor.

I have experienced similar health care in Canada and Mexico, where I have received care by paying $35 and $40 for an appointment, respectively - just paying cash, without joining any particular health care system.

With the present health care bills, what Obama is doing is similar to what I did as a 5 year old kid. They are SO DESPERATE to produce a result - any result - that they are grabbing a Turd of a Health Care Bill and presenting it to the American people as "Health Care Reform".

Are the Democrats really so Desperate to create the Illusion of Progress (or to Goose the GNP numbers) that they would pass a "Health Care" Bill that takes a system that is bad for poor & middle class people - and makes it worse ? Well, we know the pseudo-Democrats are that desperate - Pelosi, Obama, Feinstein, Reid.

But how about the rest of you ? If Obama doesn't have the guts to say, "this bill is a good start but it has some serious flaws and needs to go back to the North Pole for fixing" - then surely (hopefully) some independent Democrats & Republicans have the guts to tell some inconvenient truths about American health care.

All this bill does is wallpaper over the dry-rot - creating plenty of business for the mold contractors, or, in the case of health care, the Pharmaceutical Companies & the HMO's - who all benefit so handsomely from the present system - without adding any VALUE to American health care !

Please, tell me, what country or state do I need to move to to live in a Democracy, and to continue with a genuinely healthy version of health care ?

Therefore, I am BEGGING Congressman Alan Grayson, to LISTEN to a Lifelong-Democrat-Who-Now-Votes-Republican-because-of-Obamacare.

PLEASE STOP OBAMA-CARE. Please, do not let Obama pass a bill that forces me to purchase health insurance.

Please do whatever is necessary to stop any health care bill that contains the so-called "Individual Mandate".
